"Time to Vote"
is a project of the Sierra Foothills Democratic Club to increase voter participation through the use of mail-in or absentee voting and increase the overall number of registered voters.  Our goal is to make the process of voting easy and effective for all Democratic voters.  If you have found it difficult in the past to vote because of the needs of your work or family, make it easier on yourself by signing up to vote by permanent absentee ballot (otherwise known as mail-in ballot). 

Many people don't know that you do not need to be away from home on election day to vote by mail.  You can use an absentee ballot to vote in the comfort of your own home and mail in your ballot before election day regardless of whether you are home on election day or not.  You also have an option to take your absentee ballot with you and drop it off at the polls or the county elections office on election day. 

The process of signing up for mail-in voting is easy.  Simply submit a new voter registration form or sign up at the California Secretary of State's web site.  If you manually fill out a new voter registration form, check the box next to "Permanent Absentee Voter" and initial in the following paragraph.
